Visakhapatnam, March 24, Jankranti News,: ——- Ramadan is the most devoutly celebrated festival by Muslims all over the world. Ramadan is a very holy month for Muslims. Ramadan fasting initiations have started in India from today. As the crescent moon appeared in the sky yesterday, Muslims will start fasting. Ramadan fasting has started from yesterday in Saudi countries. However, as the Crescent moon was sighted yesterday, initiations will begin from Friday.
The start and end of Ramadan depends on the sighting of the moon. Generally, the Ramadan crescent is first seen in Saudi Arabia, some western countries and some parts of India. A day later it will be seen in rest of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh among other countries. On March 22, the crescent moon was not sighted in India, Bangladesh and other South Asian countries. However, the crescent moon was seen in Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK and other Muslim majority countries on March 22. That is why the respective countries started the first fasting of Ramadan on Thursday. The first Ramadan fast of this year begins on Jummah (Friday) on March 24. As the Islamic calendar follows the lunar , the date of Ramadan fasting changes every year.
