The government announced on Thursday that seven children have died due to respiratory infection in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held an emergency meeting on Wednesday regarding the adeno virus situation in the state. After discussing with the concerned authorities, they inquired about the health condition of the children, medical staff and other arrangements. Emergency helpline numbers 1800-313444-222 have been announced in the background of increasing virus cases.

Doctors explained that people with weakened immune system, respiratory or cardiac diseases are at higher risk of getting seriously ill from adenovirus. Doctors said that this virus affects people of all ages. Doctors said that it can be spread by coughing, sneezing, touching and even through faeces.
