JANKRANTI NEWS (ASSAM) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam started with a grand welcome at the State Guest House in Koinadhara.
Prime Minister early arrived at Guwahati’s Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport, where he was greeted with enthusiasm by the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and various other distinguished guests.
The Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport premises was filled with the beats of traditional dance which showcased the vibrant culture of Assam. Adding to this festivities, thousands of people gathered in Khanapara in the evening to illuminate 1,00,000 diyas.
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, shared the overwhelming response from the people. Dr Sarma said that the glowing sea of light not only welcomed the Prime Minister but it also symbolized the warmth and hospitality extended by the people of Assam.
Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the citizens of the state from Khanapara Veterinary Field at around 11.30 am.
