New Delhi, January 12, Jankranti News, : The central government has warned the citizens of the country to be alert against fraudulent phone calls from unknown numbers.  It said that fraudsters are committing frauds by introducing themselves as telecom service representatives and technical staff.

 It states that the criminals will tell you that there is a problem with the SIM card or the network and that  we called you to solve it.  Then the criminals will ask you to dial *401# followed by an unknown number, it explained.  If we do that, the ‘Unconditional Call Forwarding’ option will be activated on the phone and our phone will go under the control of that unknown person.  Later, there is a chance that the criminals will know who you talk to, including the OTPs related to your bank accounts and you will be cheated, so the central government has warned the citizens of the country to be alert against fraudulent phone calls from unknown phone numbers.
