INSAT-3DS is an Indian weather satellite built by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) using the GSLV launch vehicle. This satellite followed the INSAT-3DR mission. The satellite will be launched today on 17 February 2024 at 5.35 PM from Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
This INSAT-3DS satellite will also serve at an altitude of 36 thousand kilometers above the earth. Satellite Weight: 2211 kg. Lifetime of providing satellite services is 10 years. Satellite measures 2.4X1.
Kalpana-1, Insat-3A and Insat-3D satellites have been launched earlier for weather research and atmospheric studies, and they have been providing specific services in space for 10 years. On July 26, 2013, the Insat-3D satellite was launched into space orbit from the French Guiana Space Center in France in collaboration with the French Space Agency. But due to some technical reasons, the services of this satellite stopped, to compensate for that deficiency, this Insat-3DS satellite is being launched into space orbit today.
