Visakhapatnam, April 7,Jankranti News, : —- All Christians consider Good Friday as a very auspicious day.  Good Friday is celebrated to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.  Good Friday is being celebrated on this day, 7th April.
 Good Friday is the day of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ whom all Christians worship as God.  If we look at the history.. everyone was surprised to see that he survived for three days even though he was crucified.  But it is also known as ‘Holy Friday’ or Black Friday as the day of his crucifixion was a Friday.  Many believe that Isaiah sacrificed his life for the salvation of all people.  In this background, Good Friday festival is being celebrated today on April 7th.  Now let’s know some interesting facts about Good Friday on this occasion…
Good Friday falls two days before the Easter (Sunday) festival celebrated by Christians who believe that the resurrection of Jesus Christ, or.. He has returned again.  These are considered as mourning days (Lent days).  During this time, Christians do not organize celebrations, special feasts, do not eat meat, but observe strict fasting initiations.
According to Christian beliefs, Jesus Christ is considered to be the child of God.  It is believed that he came to remove some of the darkness in the world.  But the Jews thwarted Jesus’ efforts.  They oppose Jesus Christ for their supremacy.  Not stopping there, Jesus was hanged on the cross.  Jesus said at that time.  ‘Oh God!  “Forgive them for they know not what they do,” Jesus said.  This means that today is called Good Friday only because of his desire to be good even to his enemies.
On Good Friday, special prayers are offered in churches to commemorate Jesus Christ.  Pastors give messages about Jesus Christ on this special day.  Everyone prays today remembering the reasons for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the pastors explain the full stories of how Jesus was crucified.  After that they pray remembering that Jesus Christ.
According to Christian beliefs, some people consider Good Friday as a very happy day.  Because it is believed that Isaiah saved all people from their sins with his blood on the cross.  And some Christians visit the graves of their ancestors on Good Friday and light candles to mourn.  On Good Friday, many Christians drape black cloth over crosses, pictures of Christ, and statues to symbolize the death of Jesus Christ.
Christians observe fasting and prayers in their homes for 40 days before Good Friday.  During this time only vegetarian food is taken.  On Good Friday, people go to church and pray in memory of Jesus.  Some churches do not ring the bell during this time, while others ring the bells 33 times before concluding the prayers.  On Easter Sunday, people give gifts to each other to remember the Lord Jesus Christ is alive and happy.
