Dausa (Rajasthan), February,12, Jankranti News: India’s largest Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be inaugurated today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The road constructed between Sohna-Dausa, which is being constructed as part of the first phase, will be inaugurated on Sunday. The BJP government has ambitiously started the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway project. The 1,386 km long highway connects the financial capital Mumbai with the national capital Delhi. Once this is completed, the travel time between these two cities will be further reduced. Along with reducing the distance by 180 kms, the present 24 hours travel time will be reduced to 12 hours. Saves half the time at once. This road is being constructed as a total of 8 lanes.
The Sohna-Dausa road, which is currently being started in the first phase, will further improve the transport facility between Delhi and Jaipur. Earlier it took 4-5 hours to travel between Delhi-Jaipur, now it can be reached in just 2 hours with this expressway. For the construction of this road, the Center will spend Rs. 10,400 crore has been spent. This major expressway connects cities like Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Bhopal, Ujjain, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara.

The foundation stone of the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway was laid by the Union Government on March 9, 2019. This road is being constructed across Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Delhi. The total construction cost of this road is Rs. Lakh crores are being spent. 80 lakh tonnes of cement and 12 lakh tonnes of steel are used for its construction. The road is being constructed as 8 lanes and one lane is for electric vehicles only.
Food stores and hotels are being set up on the sides of the road. Hospitals, helipads, a total of 94 types of services are being made available. 20 lakh saplings are being planted along the road. A road has been built underground so that the animals in the sanctuaries in the middle are not disturbed. The road with such facilities is the first in Asia and the second in the world. A reduction in travel time of 12 hours will save 32 million liters of oil and reduce 850 million kg of carbon emissions annually.
