New Delhi, February 6, Jankranti News, : —– The central government is going to bring strict rules to punish those who commit irregularities in competitive exams.  As part of that, the bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday.  Under this, if the offense is proved, the maximum imprisonment will be ten years and a fine of up to one crore rupees.

Not only the gangs involved in examination malpractices, but also the government officials who helped them are liable to be punished.  In recent times, in many states across the country, it has become common to see manipulations in important competitive exams, postponement of exams, and loss of students who had studied sincerely and appeared for the exams.  Although many complaints have already been received, so far there are very few records of severe punishments for those who commit irregularities in the exams.

It is in this background that the central government has decided to crack down on illegal marks as well.  This is why Union Minister Jitendra Singh( Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions of India) introduced the “Public Examinations Bill”(Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill — 2024 ) in the Lok Sabha.  Center has received recommendations to conduct online exams more securely.  After examining them, the Center proposed a high-level National Technical Committee in this bill.

The Central Government has brought this Public Examinations Bill with the aim of bringing transparency and credibility in the conduct of public examinations.  The central government has made it clear that the purpose of this bill is to give assurance and courage to the young candidates who study sincerely and appear for the exams, and it is not a bill designed to target students.

The Public Examinations Bill was first mentioned by President Draupadi Murmu during the commencement of the Budget Session of Parliament on January 31.  President Draupadi Murmu revealed that the central government has recognized the concern of the youth due to the many irregularities taking place in the exams and the central government has decided to frame a new law to deal strictly with this problem.
