New Delhi, March 29, Jankranti News,: —- The Lok Sabha today revoked the disqualification of Nationalist Congress Party leader, Lakshadweep MP Mohammed Faisal.  The Lok Sabha Secretariat has issued a notification that Faisal’s Lok Sabha membership has been restored.  The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a notification on January 13 canceling Faizal’s membership in the Lok Sabha after the Kavaratti court convicted him in the murder case and sentenced him to ten years in prison.  Mohammed Faizal approached the Kerala High Court against this verdict, with which the Kerala High Court stayed the Kavaratti Court verdict.  However, it is known that Mohammad Faisal filed a petition in the Supreme Court that the Lok Sabha Secretariat did not lift the disqualification.  It is noteworthy that the Lok Sabha Secretariat revoked the disqualification after the Supreme Court agreed to hear his petition.

             Meanwhile, on January 11 this year, the Kavaratti Sessions Court sentenced Mohammad Faizal to ten years in prison in an attempted murder case.  On the 13th of the same month, the Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a notification disqualifying him.  Later, he filed a petition in the Kerala High Court challenging his jail sentence.  The court that heard it stayed the sentence imposed on him.  However, the Lok Sabha Secretariat did not lift the disqualification against him.  Recently, Mohammad Faizal approached the Supreme Court saying that even though he came to the Parliament, the security personnel were not allowed inside the House.  With this, the Lok Sabha Secretariat canceled the disqualification of MP Mohammad Faisal.
