Dibrugarh (Jankranti News) Arnab Sarma: A massive quantity of heroin worth crores was seized by Jamira Police in Hailakandi, Assam. The consignment was seized at Hailakandi along the Assam-Mizoram state border during an anti-narcotics operation. Based on specific inputs the operation was carried out and a large quantity of heroin was seized which is estimated to be worth around Rs 1 crore. The miscreants involved in the smuggling managed to escape from the Hailakandi Police. A large consignment of narcotic ‘Yaba Tablets’ was seized by officials. There were a total of 4200 narcotic tablets that were seized. The police has taken an auto-rickshaw along with two people into custody on charges of smuggling.
