JANKRANTI NEWS (ASSAM) : The results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination which was held from February 16th to March 4th, 2024, were officially declared on April 20th, 2024 today.
A total of 4,25,966 candidates applied for the examination out of which 6,888 were absent. 361 candidates were withheld and 61 candidates were expelled from the examination. Among the appeared candidates for the HSLC examination, 1,87,904 were male, 2,31,164 were female and 10 were transgender.
The overall pass percentage for the HSLC examination 2024 stood at 75.7%. Male candidates achieved a pass percentage of 77.3%, while female candidates at 74.4%, and transgender candidates leading the score with 80%.
A total of 6,392 candidates secured distinction marks of 85% and above. 20,552 candidates are recognized as STAR mark holders (75% to 84.99%).
A total of 1,05,873 candidates scored 1st Division (including the Distinction and STAR mark holders), 1,50,764 candidates scored 2nd Division, and lastly 60,680 candidates scored the 3rd Division.
The number of ‘Letter Mark’ holders totaled 1,93,159 candidates with the highest number of candidates in the Social Science subject at 36,973.
Chirang district toped the score with a pass percentage of 91.2%, which is followed by Nalbari district at 88.1%, and Baksa district at 86.9%. Conversely, the Udalguri district has reported the lowest pass percentage at 60.9%.
The top five candidates in order of merit are:
- ANURAG DOLOI from Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School, Jorhat, who scored 593 marks.
- JHARNA SAIKIA from Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan, Chariali, Biswanath, with a score of 590 marks.
- MANASH PRATIM SAIKIA from Island Academy, Kamalabari, Majuli, with a score of 588 marks.
- BEDANTA CHOUDHURY from Stella Maris School of Sarupeta, Barpeta, with a score of 588 marks.
- DEVASHREE KASHYAP from Ramanujan Senior Secondary School, Nagaon, with a score of 588 marks.
ANURAG DOLOI from Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School, Jorhat, toped the HSLC examination 2024 with a score of 593 marks.
