ASSAM: Ipsita Pratap of Assam appointed as the first International Mental Health Advisor in Australia.

JANKRANTI NEWS (ASSAM) : Ipsita Pratap from Lakhimpur, Assam is appointed as the first international student in Australia to serve as young advisor for the mental health and suicide prevention. Ipsita has made significant strides in her advocacy efforts directly engaging with the prominent figures like the Prime Minister of Australia in Canberra over the past years. 

It is to be noted that Ipsita has been collaborating closely with key figures of the Australian government including Dr. Anne Kelly, Assistant Minister of Mental Health and Emma McBride to address the pressing of the mental health challenges. Her involvement also extends to working alongside government agencies like the National Mental Health Commission (NMHC) and the National Suicide Prevention Office (NSPO).

Ipsita’s remarkable dedication to mental health has been recognized through various prestigious awards. She was awarded the Anne Kantor Fellowship in 2021, which was a testament to her commitment and expertise in the mental health field. 

As a fellow, Ipsita has recently embarked on a new chapter of her life joining the Australian Institute to contribute to scientific policy reforms and consultations.
