New Delhi, March 27, Jankranti News, : —- Center has appointed Sadanand Vasant Date as Director General of National Investigation Agency (NIA). He is a 1990 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Maharashtra cadre. Sadanand Vasant Date is currently serving as Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad Chief. Dinakar Gupta is currently the Director General of NIA. His tenure will end on 31st of this month. In this order, the Center has issued an order appointing Sadanand Vasant Date in his place. Sadanand Vasant will continue in office till December 31, 2026. At the same time Rajeev Kumar Sharma, a 1990 batch IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed as the Bureau of Director General. He will retire on June 30, 2026.
Sadanand Vasant Date is a 1990 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Maharashtra cadre. Prior to his appointment as Director General (DG) of NAI, he served in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra. Sadanand Vasant Date has been working as Maharashtra ATS Chief for the last two years. Several terrorists associated with ISI were also arrested. He played a key role in eradicating the ‘Ravi Pujari Gang’ during his earlier work as the Mumbai Crime Branch Chief. Sadanand Vasant Date He likes to lead a simple life.
