What is DIGIPIN?

DIGIPIN (Digital Personal Identification Number) is a secure authentication method introduced by India Post for paperless and digital transactions like savings accounts, postal life insurance, and money orders.

How to Retrieve Your DIGIPIN in 5 Steps

Step 1: Visit Your Nearest Post Office

Go to any India Post branch where you have an account (e.g., savings, PLI, etc.).

Step 2: Carry Required Documents

  • Aadhaar Card (linked to your mobile number)
  • Post Office account passbook (if applicable)
  • Registered mobile phone (for OTP verification)

Step 3: Request DIGIPIN Activation

Ask the staff to register/generate your DIGIPIN. They’ll verify your identity via Aadhaar biometrics.

Step 4: Receive DIGIPIN via SMS or App

Once verified, your DIGIPIN will be sent via SMS or appear in the India Post Mobile App.

Step 5: Use DIGIPIN for Transactions

Enter the DIGIPIN when prompted for authentication in India Post services (e.g., money orders, account withdrawals).
