What is DIGIPIN?
DIGIPIN (Digital Personal Identification Number) is a secure authentication method introduced by India Post for paperless and digital transactions like savings accounts, postal life insurance, and money orders.
How to Retrieve Your DIGIPIN in 5 Steps
Step 1: Visit Your Nearest Post Office
Go to any India Post branch where you have an account (e.g., savings, PLI, etc.).
Step 2: Carry Required Documents
- Aadhaar Card (linked to your mobile number)
- Post Office account passbook (if applicable)
- Registered mobile phone (for OTP verification)
Step 3: Request DIGIPIN Activation
Ask the staff to register/generate your DIGIPIN. They’ll verify your identity via Aadhaar biometrics.
Step 4: Receive DIGIPIN via SMS or App
Once verified, your DIGIPIN will be sent via SMS or appear in the India Post Mobile App.
Step 5: Use DIGIPIN for Transactions
Enter the DIGIPIN when prompted for authentication in India Post services (e.g., money orders, account withdrawals).
