Jammu & Kashmir Terrible Road Accident Update News, :: Fatal accident on Jammu-Srinagar highway, —- 10 dead as cab falls into deep gorge

  Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir , March 29, Jankranti News, : —– A fatal road accident took place in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday (March 29).  10 passengers were killed when it fell into a  deep gorge near Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.  The cab with passengers was going from Jammu to Srinagar when it lost control and fell into the deep gorge.  Immediately after receiving the information about the incident, the police reached the spot and started rescue operations.

 The accident took place near Battery Chashma in Ramban area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.  The cab carrying passengers fell into a deep gorge.  As soon as local authorities were informed about the incident, police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Civil Quick Response Team (QRT) from Ramban rushed to the spot.  The team descended into the deep valley and started rescue operations and pulled out the dead bodies.

On the other hand, the rescue operation started early in the morning.  So far 10 bodies have been recovered.  However, deep trenches, darkness and torrential rain in the area make the rescue operation challenging.  It is reported that relief operations have stopped for some time in between.  The biggest problem in the rescue operation is the rain, due to which the rescue crews are suffering a lot.

 The police said that the information about the accident was received around 1.15 am on Friday morning.  The Chevrolet Tavera cab was traveling from Jammu to Srinagar with passengers when an untoward incident took place on the way, police said.  The cab fell into a 300 meter deep ravine on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.  So far, the bodies that have been taken out have been taken to the hospital and preparations are being made to inform the families.

 Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed grief over the Ramban accident.  Spoke to DC #Ramban Sh Baseer-ul-Haq about this fatal road accident.  Police, SDRF and Civil QRT personnel reached the spot.  A rescue operation is underway.  Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased.
