Jankranti News (Dibrugarh) : Today on 15th of August, 2023 on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day , the celebration of the Independence Day in Dibrugarh was held at the Khonikar Playground of the Dibrugarh District. 

Honourable Education Minister of Assam, Dr Ranoj Pegu officially hoisted the National Flag in the presence of thousands of people at Khonikar Playground. 

Various VIP dignitaries such as MLA of Dibrugarh, Prasanta Phukan; Dibrugarh District Commissioner, Vikram Koiri; Superintendent of Police, Shetanka Mishra; Mayor of Dibrugarh District, Dr Saikaat Patra and other high ranking officers of the Dibrugarh District were present. 

Along with the VIP dignitaries the various Administrative Officers and District Administration Officers were also present to celebrate the 77th Independence Day held at Khanikar Playground of Dibrugarh District. 

The event included Kuch-Kawaz by the Army, Police, NCC etc followed by Band Performance of the Indian Army and ended with various other Cultural events like dance performance and patriotic songs and so on by the students of various schools and colleges.
