New Delhi, April 11, Jankranti News,;  —– The Central Election Commission has taken a key decision revoking the national party status of CPI, TMC and NCP.  Also, Aam Aadmi Party, which was in power in Delhi and Punjab, was given the status of a national party.  Founded in 2012 by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party,
Kejriwal, who participated in Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement, founded the Aam Aadmi Party at that time.  Now that party is in power in two states.  Gujarat also has 5 assembly seats.  That party got the status of a national party.
Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress (NCP) and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) along with those two parties, CPI will also remain a regional party from now on.  Henceforth, CPI, TMC and NCP parties will not have the status of a national party.
If any party loses its national party status, there will be some difficulties.  Candidates cannot get the common symbol of the party in those states where a party is not recognized.  In order for any party to get the status of a national party, it needs to get 6 percent of the votes cast in at least 4 states in the general elections in the country.  Otherwise, he has to win 11 Lok Sabha seats from any 4 states of the country.
